I was off work sick today, so have been watching friends and the news all day (which grows tired very quickly).RANT: Why do the BBC insist on sending people from London to cover news stories? Today is the verdict in the trial of one of the people on trial for the Omagh bombing (Which was nearly 10 years ago now!) and instead of using one of the many BBC Northern Ireland presenters they have sent some random presenter I have never seen before from London. I would kind of understand them sending a main recognisable presenter as a familiar face but this guy is new.He couldn’t even pronounce Omagh correctly so how can I expect him to have a clue about NIre’s complex past? This is an example of how London centric the BBC still is, hopefully with the new BBC Manchester and BBC Scotland buildings this will change.
